What We Do
We are an aspirational choir, directed by a professional musician, who
enjoys working with enthusiastic singers, both trained and untrained. We
enjoy the challenge of new music and are familiar with the standard
choral repertoire.
We have vacancies in all parts. There are no
auditions, but enthusiasm and commitment are essential.
We'd like to hear from you!
We rehearse in the United Reformed Church in Wareham on Monday evenings from 7:30pm to
9:30pm, beginning in September, preparing for
several concerts each year.
Our traditional Christmas concert is held in Lady St Mary's Church
in Wareham.
We belong to the Dorset Guild of Singers, and we join with other local Guild choirs
every two years to perform larger-scale works at the Lighthouse in
Poole. In non-Guild years, we perform an Easter concert, usually at Lady
St. Mary.
In recent years we have extended our season and our
repertoire to encompass a summer concert using iconic venues in the
Purbecks. We hope to continue this new tradition!
We have also
hosted very successful Come-and-Sing afternoons and we shall hold more
of these events in future.
Our fees are £50 each term. Member subscriptions can be gift-aided.
Scholarships may be available for young people.
We are a
registered charity, and regularly donate to local charities from the
proceeds of our concerts.
